Where on Earth to Watch Alice in Wonderland?

“Curiouser and curiouser” is a familiar line from this most famous of stories written by Lewis Carroll back in 1865, and the words fit this version of the classic movie even better than ever before. This is a Disney movie, a 3-D live action plus animation version of the old Walt Disney classic our parents saw in theaters many years ago. And it might be a bit intense for the very young viewer but most will find this updated storyline plus the 3D concept very entertaining.

The film had its premiere in London February 25, 2010 and will open in wide release in the U.S. and the United Kingdom on March 5, 2010. It’s in Disney Digital 3-D as well as IMAX 3-D. It will additionally be shown in regular theaters. This action packed fantasy adventure film is directed by Tim Burton and combines the story idea of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (original title) with Through the Looking Glass (sequel). This movie combines the team of Burton and Depp once again. Previously they had hits in the films “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Edward Scissorhands”.

The story finds Alice (Kingsley) is now age nineteen and attending a party not long after her beloved father has passed away. The party takes place at a Victorian estate and many amazing characters are in attendance. Alice sees a white rabbit that appears to be wearing a waistcoat can a pocket watch. When Alice sees this phenomenon she follows the White Rabbit (who always worries about running late) into a maze and soon falls down a rabbit hole, winding up in Underland or Wonderland as the locals refer to it.

Walt Disney Pictures and visionary director Tim Burton comes an fantasy adventure “Alice in Wonderland,” a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time. Johnny Depp starting as the Mad Hatter and Mia Wasikowska as 19 years old Alice, who returns to the whimsical world she first discovered as a teen girl, reuniting with her childhood friends – the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, & of course, the Mad Hatter.

Alice in Wonderland runs one hour forty nine minutes and is listed as a family adventure film with a PG rating. This movie should be spectacular in 3-D and especially viewed on an IMAX screen! It might be well worth the drive to find that combination in your area.
