Psychology and Extroverts

Psychology is defined as the study of how the human and animal mind functions and why they behave the way they do in specific situations. History records show this form of study originated from the days of China, Egypt, India, Greece and even Persia. And now, in the 20th century, the study of the human mind has become more complex, and a more accepted social science, having a clear methodology.

A person who is practicing psychology or is a practitioner or a researcher bares the title most of us are very fond of, psychologist. Emotions, motivation, perception, interactions and personality are all little things a psychologist is into. Anything that has to do with interaction, behavior, and mind works interests psychologists.

Personality psychology is one of the branches that are considered popular in the field. Whenever you are asked to answer tests or examinations that involve answering questions of how you would react about certain situations, you are already being subjected to personality psychology. A person's emotions, behavior and thought are what make up his or her personality, and these are what this branch of psychology desires to understand.

It is vital when starting with personality psychology that a logical study of the person's personality has been conducted and analyzed. Next, individual differences are examined as to how a person reacts, behaves or has a different personality from his or her peers. Lastly, a study on how they are similar is also undertaken.

Though there are still doubts about it, the Big 5 theory is still one of the most comprehensive studies on human personality psychology. Although, the labels may differ and is open to debate among psychologists, these are extroversion, openness, neuroticism, agreeableness and conscientiousness. There will be instances that a person is in the extreme side of particular traits, maybe he or she is extremely neurotic and at the same time is in the opposite spectrum when it comes to being agreeable.

To be able to fully grasp the subject on personality psychology, it is important to check on what the Big 5 means. Openness is a trait in people that is characterized by aesthetics, ideas and fantasy, as extroversion or extroversion is characterized by the tendency to seek out the company of other people. Disciplined, achieving and routine following men and women tend to be on the conscientious side as people who believe humans are on average honest, trustworthy and decent are agreeableness people.

Neuroticism is the last of these five traits and is characterized by violent outbreaks of emotions that cause a person to have a hard time to mentally process things. As mentioned, piecing together different aspects of a person?s behavior and emotion is the key to studying and predicting human beings. You may start to see how psychology is such a huge topic, as this one theory is simply a theory in a branch of personality psychology.

It is exceptionally hard to ponder where psychology can be applied because of the overlapping connection it has to all industries. As it is involved in understanding how and why each and every one of us the way we do, and analyzing how our mind works. And as long as the mystery that is humanity is once and for all revealed, psychology will continue to be at the forefronts of studying man.

As previously mentioned, it is important that psychology is used in any field that involves human interacting with one another. Psychologists take great pride in studying the most complex subject in the universe which is the human mind. It works for anything, like business, in relationships, even sports.
